About us
Hello, my name is Mette, and my journey in Håltebyn began over 25 years ago. When I was a child, my father took me on a drive to explore the area where some of our ancestors once lived. I instantly fell in love with the landscape - expansive plains with fields, enchanting forests, and small lakes scattered all around. The sense of being deeply connected to nature was overwhelming.
In the late 90s, I discovered the house that I now call home, Åsen. It's a charming Swedish "stuga" brimming with history, though it was in need of some tender care. Now, 25 years later, Åsen has transformed into a little oasis. Surrounded by several small cottages, a thriving greenhouse, and our latest addition—the guest house we offer through Landfolk and Airbnb.
Everything you see in the guest house has a story - each item is either inherited, bought at auction, or found at a flea markets. Here, you'll find peace, inspiration, and a genuine sense of rural living.
